Do you remember the first time you said

Do you remember the first time you said a cuss word?

January 19, 2024

Do you remember the first time you said a cuss word? You were probably young and never had said that kind of word before, because you knew you would get into trouble with your parents. Maybe, even get your mouth washed out with soap. Can you remember? You looked around to make sure no one could see you or hear you and then out it came. You giggled, you felt sneaky, and then you looked around again just to make sure no one heard you. The feeling you had inside you—you knew you were wrong but it felt as if you were older than your years. And after those came out of your mouth, you knew you had gotten away with it and you smiled. You were a big shot, now that you said those words. Eventually you started saying those cuss words around others, because they wouldn’t say them, but you did. So you tried it again and again—even though you knew it was wrong. Sin! Romans 3:23 reads,” For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Sin is sin there is no degree on sin whether it is a big sin verses a little sin. IF you know, something is wrong, and you know you should not do it—then why do you do it? Sin! Maybe we as people of God we need to think before we do! Maybe we need to stay more on God’s path than on the road to sin! Maybe just because it feels could does not mean you should do it. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
