Fear is a strange phenomenon it affects most of us at one point or another in our life. As a child, I was fearful of the dark and what might happen. My imagination conjured up all sorts of monsters coming to get me. I was also afraid of being alone. I would cry in fear if I was left alone. As time went by my fears diminished and my relationship with God grew. We can be afraid of the dark, of being alone, losing a loved one, our health or the health of a loved one. We can be afraid of the evil in this world. We can be fearful of dying or what the future will bring. Fear can stop you dead in our tracks or cause you to run away in fright. Fear is a powerful emotion. Scripture tells us, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) Sometimes in life, these words are all we can hold onto. Sometimes in life, it is so hard—it is even hard to breathe. It is almost impossible to keep putting one foot in front of the other. This is where God comes in. When you have a relationship with God—God gives you hope, for life without hope does not seem worthwhile. No matter the fear, no matter what you are experiencing, remember God is the one sure thing in this life of ours. He is there even when you do not feel it. Believe it. Trust it. God will see you through no matter what is going on in your life. God Bless. Amen.
