God Dwells Within Us.

Our bodies are God's temple.

April 11, 2026

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst.” (1Corinthians 3:16 NIV)

A temple is primarily defined as a building dedicated to religious worship or as a place regarded as the dwelling place of a deity.  It is a sacred place for the purpose of being connected to God and God to you.

In this scripture Paul is connecting God to our bodies—a dwelling place for God. In this analogy, Paul explains that God is not only in the church but in us as well.  Thus, Paul reminds us that we are to take care of ourselves, our bodies so that we can glorify God in all things.  Therefore, do not do things that will harm your body—God’s temple.

Do not overindulge in your eating or drinking.  Do not gossip.  Do not lie. Do not lust.  Do not be angry at your neighbor.  Do not hold grudges.  Do not be evil, for God dwells within you.  This verse is a reminder God dwells within us.  If we really think about it, we just might change, some things, in our lifestyle. It is something to think about. God dwells within us.  God Bless.  Amen.
