Have you ever said something that was hurtful

Have you ever said something that was hurtful or mean?

Have you ever said something that was hurtful or mean? Have you ever said something to hurt another person? Have you ever said something and wished you had not said what you said, because you see the hurt in the other person’s eyes? Sometimes we forget that our words can and do hurt. Words have the power to build someone up and the ability to destroy. Words can be kind, loving and gentle or mean, cruel, and spiteful. Once a word is spoken, it can never be taken back. Sure, you can apologize but the words said, are always there. Scripture reminds us of this in Ephesians 4:29 it reads, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Sometimes, not saying anything is the best course of action. Silence, they say is golden. Just because you think it, does not mean you should say it. We need to think before we speak and remember if you cannot say anything nice don’t say anything at all. Words for thought! God Bless. Amen.
