I am a caregiver. I like to help

I like to help and care for those who are hurting, who are sick, and I love to cook for those who come over.

I am a caregiver. I like to help and care for those who are hurting, who are sick, and I love to cook for those who come over. I guess some might call it codependent, others might say I care too much, and still others say, “Why do you wait on others? I would never do such a thing!” I guess, when I do things for others, it makes me feel good. John 13:1-2 reads, “He (referring to Jesus) laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” Matthew 20:28a says, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others…” Our Lord is a model of servanthood. He became a servant when He obeyed God’s will. He was a servant when He washed the disciples’ feet. If we are to do, what Christ did. Then maybe, we need to rethink how we deal with others and instead of putting our self first, maybe we need to put God first, then others and then our self. It is the Golden Rule manifested, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto your.” It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
