I have Wet Macular Degeneration in my left eye.

January 6, 2025

I have Wet Macular Degeneration in my left eye. It was scary for me when I found out about it, in some ways it still is scary. Having your eyesight diminish creates fear, but you learn to cope with it. I am on the 7-week program where I get a shot in my eye to help stop blindness from setting in. My husband is a very good care giver, for when I get the eye shot, I get migraines and am out for the day. I depend upon him for help. When a person is always there, during the good times and bad, this creates a dependence upon that person—you begin to rely upon this person, to listen to you, reason with you, and share their wisdom with you. It is easy to start taking that person for granted when he/she is always in your life. And because of this, it is good to tell this special person how much you appreciate and love him/her. But think about this, for it holds true for God too. Sometimes we just need to thank God and Praise His Holy Name and pray—telling God what is going on in our life. Because God is with us during the good times as well as the bad, through sickness and health, and He even walks with us down the valley of death. Psalm 139:5 reads, “You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.” It is something we all need to remember. So, turn to God, He is there. He will help you! God Bless. Amen.
