I Stand at the Door and knock!

In all things do it with Jesus.

May 26, 2026

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock, if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20 KJV)

When you read this verse what comes to your mind?  For me it is an invitation for Christ to come into your life.  From a historical stand point, it is widely used to represent an individual invitation for Jesus to come into your life.  It illustrates that Jesus patiently waits for you to choose to open your heart to Him.

To open your heart to Jesus.  To open the door and let Jesus come into your life means to intentionally shift from “self” (I accomplish and do everything on my own) self-reliance, to a trusting relationship (letting go and letting God) in all aspects of your life.

You are at work, trying to get a project moving in the right direction, you are capable, intelligent and have a great mind.  If you say this prayer, you are inviting Jesus in to help you accomplish what needs to be done. (Lord, you have given me a great mind, help me see clearer, so that I see the whole picture, so I can get all the kinks out, resolving the minor problems, flaws, and imperfections in this plan, in order to finalize it.)  And the wonders of our Lord are now a part of what you are doing, for you have invited Him in.

This holds true to everyday life as well: working in the yard, building a shed, cooking, talking to someone in need, in your marriage, in a friendship, studying for a test, writing, reading, singing, driving, and anything else you might do in life.

When you invite Jesus into your life it is no longer “I” it becomes “We” you are a team in all of your life.  You have invited him in and together you can say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.” So, open the door let Him in.  You will be amazed at how smoothly your life will go. God Bless.  Amen.
