I was asked, “Did you do this?” I denied that I did it. Even though she saw me do it and I knew I did it, but I still denied that I did it. Why would I deny it? Was I afraid? Was I what? Why didn’t I do the right thing and own up to my mistake? What does it mean to do the right thing? What does it mean to not lie? What does it mean to not gossip? What does it mean not to steal? What does it mean not to lust after the opposite sex? What does it mean not to covet your neighbor’s things? What does it mean to honor your father and mother? What does it mean not to kill? Why do we make excuses or justify our actions for the things we know are wrong? God has called all of us to lead the life of a person of God. There are rules and regulations as to what we are to do and how we are to act! The question is how much of God’s way do we want to follow. Titus 2:14 reads, “The LORD Jesus Christ gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.” ! Corinthians 11:1 says, “God’s purpose is that we should copy Christ and be like Him.” The next time you start to say or do something you know is not the right thing to do, you probably should not ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?” And if Christ wouldn’t do it why are you? It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
