I was leaving Nicoma Park, on 23rd going west.

January 18, 2024

I was leaving Nicoma Park, on 23rd going west. I was on my way to visit someone in the hospital in OKC. It was just before noon, so there was traffic. 23rd has two lanes going west and two lanes going east, with one lane in the center for turning. I was driving in the far right lane. A car was in front of me, with a little space between us. Another car was on the left side of me and that car had another car behind him. I looked in my rear-view-mirror, there was a car coming up behind me fast, very fast. There was no place for this car to go. There was no place for me to go. This car was going to hit me and hit me hard. I put my shoulder down upon the passenger side, screaming “God Help Me!” Nothing happened. I sat up looked around. The car was in front of me. This took place within 4 to 6 seconds. I have no idea how that car got in front of me, because I was surrounded by cars. I gave thanks, saying over and over, “Thank you God. Thank you God.” I am sure there are those that have their theories and will say, “Sure like that could happen.” But such is life. I was there. It happened. We take for granted, our life. We take for granted, those whom we love. Life is fleeting. One moment we are here and the next we are gone. Today, choose life. Make this the best day ever. Live today, as if it were your last. And may you find joy in the midst of the hustle and bustle of today. May you feel loved for indeed you are; God loves you unconditionally always and forever. And as the day unfolds smile, laugh, and dance—dance as if no one is watching. Take the time to tell those around you how much they mean to you and how much you love them. Find time to spend alone with God sharing your hurts and concerns, your joys and sorrows. Give thanks! For this is the first day of the rest of your life. Enjoy, praise God. God Bless. Amen.
