I was raised, in a period of time

I was raised, in a period of time where a handshake was binding and your word was impeccable.

I was raised, in a period of time where a handshake was binding and your word was impeccable. Right was right, wrong was wrong, and kindness, politeness, and not saying everything you think aloud was prominent. Yelling, being aggressive and making a display in public was unheard of. We had values, morals and integrity. There were some who were rude, unkind, and downright mean, but they were the very small minority. Today, it seems that morals, values, and integrity no longer matter. People lie or scream to get what they want, and truth is hard to find. Everyone seems to have an opinion and their opinion is shared, as if it were fact. Proverbs 12:17 reads, “Whoever speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit.” Proverbs 12:22 says, “Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight.” Proverbs 28:18 tells us, “Whoever walks in integrity will be delivered, but he who is crooked in his ways will suddenly fall.” God detests liars; in the book of Revelation He has said that all those who love to practice lies and bear false witness will be cast in the lake of fire. (Revelation 21:8) Just because someone acts a certain way, does things that you know are wrong, or lies does not give you the right to do the same. As believers in God, we are called to a higher standard and way of life. Be an example, not part of the problem. Be a light unto this world where people say, “I want to be like you!” Be a representative of God. God Bless. Amen.
