I was talking to my husband the other day.

I was talking to my husband the other day. We were reminiscing about our childhood days. Laughing, teasing, and remembering. Some of our memories are the same, because we have known each other since birth. As we were talking, “I said you know what I used to say to Jeremy, Nathan, Luke, then Alysa and Nick, “To cherish your childhood—being a child—for you are only a child for a short time. The rest of your life you are an adult.” Sometimes we want to grow up too quickly. We forget to enjoy the moment we are in and sometimes as an adult we want to go back to our childhood days. Because we believe they were the good old days. We want to quit adulting for a day or two. Too much responsibility. But as adults, quitting adulting is not a choice! Maybe what we should be taught or teach people is to make the most out of each moment you are in. To laugh more, smile, be kind, be considerate, sing at the top of your lungs, and dance as if no one is watching. To stop and smell the roses, watch a sunrise or sunset. Have dinner with family and friends. Sit on the porch and enjoy the scenery. And laugh at the times to come, by making the most out of each day. Ephesians 5:1a reads, “Make the best use of your time, despite all the difficulties of these days.” We can’t change the past, we do not know what the future will bring, all we have is today—this very moment we are in—so enjoy it. For once this day is gone you can never get it back. Remember, today is the first day of the rest of your life. God Bless. Amen.
