In our society, there seems to be a lot of doom and gloom, feelings of hopelessness and discouragement. Hope and optimism are pushed out of sight, but are things we need in our life. For life without hope, makes life hard to deal with and to stay optimistic in a tough situation can, at times, be almost impossible. As a believer in God, the one thing that keeps me going is God, because God is what gives me hope. Optimism focuses not on the situation but on God, who is King of kings, Lord of lords. Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “For faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.” Psalms 27:13-14 reminds us, “I believe I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord, be strong, and let your heart take courage, wait for the Lord!” When I have hope, I can keep a positive attitude and stay optimistic, even when life is unbearable, because I know God is with me in all situations and circumstances. Today, whatever it is you are going through, know that God is with you. That God will sustain you and give you the courage and the endurance you need to keep putting one foot in front of the other. God gives us hope and hope does not disappoint us. God Bless. Amen.
