In the early 1990’s a parishioner told me, “I love to iron. As I iron, I pray. I pray over all my husband shirts, pants and I even iron his boxers. I just love him so much. I want to surround him in love.” I think this is so beautiful. It shows a beautiful love. In 1 Corinthians 16:14 it reads, “Do everything in love.” I ask you, do you do everything in love. When you speak to your spouse or your children is it in love? When you do a task, do you do it in love or are you resentful? When you are out in public, are your actions of love and kindness or anger and frustration? We choose to be happy, sad, mad, or glad. We choose to make the most out of a situation. We choose to have a smile on our face or a frown. We choose. So today what type of day will you have a good day, doing everything in love and prayer or a frustrating day without God? The choice is yours. Sure, I realize that life gets in the way, but that is life. This parishioner taught me, that praying in all situations and circumstance, will always make your day go better. And as you pray, it will also radiate forth to those around you. God Bless. Amen.
