It is NOT about "I", it is about God.

In all things we are to give God the glory!

“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:7 NIV)

The Apostle Paul was addressing divisions in the Corinthian church, where members were splitting into factions based on who gets the credit and who has accomplished more.  The verse highlights human “insignificance” in producing spiritual results, shifting focus away from their efforts and showing the results are always from God.

This scripture serves as a reminder that, regardless of our effort (“planting” and “watering”) only God can produce spiritual life and growth.  We at times, get hung up on “I” did this or look at “who I saved.”  It is not about “I”.  For only God can make things grow.

Our role, according to this scripture is to be faithful, co-workers with God and examples for others to see.  While God provides the miracle of life and transformation, God has specifically assigned us the necessary tasks of planting the seed (sharing the “Good News” and watering the seed (being an example for others to follow).

It is not about all the things that YOU think YOU have accomplished.  It is about giving God the glory in all things.  It is something to think about.  God Bless. Amen.
