Just before Jesus was betrayed Jesus asked Peter

Just before Jesus was betrayed Jesus asked Peter 3 times if he loved Him.

January 9, 2025

Just before Jesus was betrayed Jesus asked Peter 3 times if he loved Him. Jesus said, “Simon son of John do you love me more than these? Simon Peter said to him, “Yes, LORD; you know that I love you...” (John 21:15b) that night Simon Peter betrayed Jesus. So here is the question, “Do you love your LORD?” Or just like Peter you too deny our Lord at times! The way we deny our Lord is when we gossip, slander others, lie, steal, cheat, being lazy and wasting your life a way, when we disrespect our parents, covet our neighbors’ things, when our own agenda is more important than others, when we are self-centered, when we put other things before God and family, and so on and so forth—right? Many times, throughout the Bible we are told to love our Lord. Love is a verb, it is action—love is shown through our actions. It is not just in saying, “I love you.” It is in the showing of “I love you.” Today, before you say or do anything ask yourself, “What would Jesus do?” Then do what you know you need to do. Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” And it shall be done through our actions. God Bless. Amen.
