Let us Gather Together.

The power of two or three gathering together!

“For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” (Matthew 18:20 NIV)

In this verse Jesus promises His presence whenever believers gather on His behalf.  “I am with them.” Jesus is personally and spiritually present with His followers, giving them His guidance, support, wisdom, understanding and authority where two or three are gathered.

It is a guarantee that believers do not act alone, God’s spirit is actively with them.  It reminds believers that God is with us when we are alone and when we gather together. It shows us that being with others, gathering together and praying together is an important part of our prayer and spiritual life.  For we are a people of community.

This verse implies that unity among believers invites God’s power and alignment with His will.  That is what a prayer chain is, when two or three are gathered in His Name, praying for the same thing.  For there is power in a prayer chain.  When groups of people pray for the same thing, it is like prayer on steroids.  It is comforting to know that all these people are praying for you and what is going on in your life.  Prayer it is our lifeline to God.  Today, pray with another person, pray together and know that the power of our Lord will be there.  God Bless. Amen.
