One day, the words from Matthew 25:21, “Well done, good and faithful servant” will mean more to you than all the things you have around you. Strange how some people value their power, their possession, and their life more than what God has called them to do and to be. “Self” becomes their God. It’s as if nothing else in life matters than being a person standing on top of the world. God wants us to get out of our “self” and care about one another, help one another, be compassionate of others—life is not about me, me, me and what I want. The Bible says limits and boundaries are a positive and divinely sanctioned part of life, designed to bring order, protection, and blessings. Proverbs 3:5-8 reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” Exercising self-control, self-discipline, and establishing limits and boundaries in our life are some of the most important things we can do. When we follow God’s guidelines, live by God’s way, and act in accordance to God. We no longer put our “self” first we put God first, family second, and “self” third. And God will say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” It is something to strive for. God Bless. Amen.
