Psalms 51:10-12 it reads, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” On one hand this scripture is about being pure and clean—to be pure means to be clean, blameless, unstained from guilt—to be free from sin and live a life accordingly to God’s ways. Easier said than done! We all sin and fall short of God’s Glory. This scripture is more than just sin—it is about our attitude and our heart. Yes, we sin, but what is, “our heart’s desire” that is what this scripture is focusing on. See, I try not to sin but sometimes I fall short, and I sin, but my heart is in the right place for I want to serve God and be a representative of our LORD. We sin, but it is in the confessing of our sins that is so important for once we confess our sins, we are restored, and God’s mercy is manifested. Psalms 51:1 says, “Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!” And the more we are aware of how we sin, the more we try not to. None of us are perfect—it is in the trying and the serving of our LORD—it is what is in our heart that matters! God Bless. Amen.
