Refuge is a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble it also provides shelter. Scripture tells us that God is our refuge. Psalm 46:1 is a good example of this, “God is our refuge and strength.” This scripture reminds us that when we are faced with trouble our God is there. He is our refuge! During the rough periods of our life, all we can do is hold on, clinging to God, hoping and praying that we can get through the situation we are in. Psalms 7:1a says, “Lord my God, I take refuge in you...” For taking refuge in God is like taking shelter in the Most High. Psalm 91:2 shows us this, “I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress. My God, in whom I trust!’” Therefore, when we are confronted with one tragedy after another. And the problems seem to mount up one upon the other, and we become weary and in need of shelter. Turn to God. Find refuge in God. Go to Him. Pray, mediate, listen to Christian music, and read the Bible. Jeremiah 16:19a reminds us, “O LORD, my strength and my stronghold. And my refuge in the day of distress.” God Bless. Amen.
