Sometimes we feel so weak emotionally, that it is just too hard to do anything at all. When you are weak emotionally, you know you need to get up, you know you need to do things—but emotionally you are a wreck. To even get up off the couch, or take a shower seems impossible. The desire to do something is gone; nothing seems fun anymore. When we are in this condition, God is the only thing that can help. What I have learned is that the power of Christ rests upon me and gives me strength and rests on you and gives you strength. It is a strength that I did not know, I had. 2 Corinthians 12:9 reads, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” Praise God, Christ’s power rest on me! Christ’s power rest on you! So when I am feeling weak, I go to God in prayer—praising His Holy Name—telling Him of my hurts and concerns and asking for grace, mercy, help and forgiveness. Through this process the power of the Holy Spirit manifest itself upon me. Giving me the very thing, I need. As I pray, I say things like, “I can’t do this without you Lord. Help me to get up and take a shower, Help me to eat right, help me to exercise. Help me to forgive myself, help me to love myself. Help me! These things I pray. Amen.” And I say it over and over. I might even say the Lord’s Prayer, read the Bible, listen to Christian music, and journal. Whatever you are going through know God is with you—hang in there for this too shall pass, for in all things God works for good for those who love Him. So get up, get off the couch, grab onto God, and say, “Help me!” You and God got this. God Bless. Amen.
