Sometimes we just have a bad day.

Sometimes we just have a bad day. Where everything or anything goes wrong. You just want to go to your room until the day is over. But sometimes another person is having a bad day, or is sick, or just frustrated. There is nothing you did expect be in the way of another person who is angry and frustrated. How do you handle that kind of situation? Do you get mad right back at the person? Do you go inward and become quiet? Do you remove yourself from the situation until the person stops taking it out on you? What do you do? In the book “The Four Agreements” one of the things you learn is that you do not take anything personal, but that, at times, is very hard to do! Because it hurts when someone take their frustration out on you. The Bible encourages to respond to meanness, with kindness and blessing, rather than returning evil for evil. 1 Peter 3:9 reads, “Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing…” One way to handle a situation where someone is frustrated and mean is to say, “I love you. I am not here for you to take your frustrations out on me.” Walkway until the person gains control of themselves. Then pray. Because the bottom line is the only person you can control is yourself. Tit for Tat never works. As my father always said, “Kill them with kindness.” It is something to try! God Bless. Amen.
