“Sorrow is sad but there is no greater sorrow than remembrance of good times one once shared.” I do not know who wrote this, I memorized this in the late 1960’s and it has stuck with me all these years. Sometimes life is very sad. You just want to sit down while the emotion consumes you. Sadness is an emotion that is neither good nor bad. It is an emotion that God gave us. What we do with our sadness is our choice. We can let it destroy us, or we can find hope. Life goes on and at times the only way you can keep going is to hold onto God—trusting Him moment by moment, step by step. Scripture tells us in Psalm 34:18 it reads, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” As we hold onto God we have hope. Romans 15:13 says, “May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.” God is there and where God is there is hope and hope does not disappoint us. For God brings us joy. For the joy of the Lord is our strength. God Bless. Amen.
