Stressful life events can cause sadness.

Stressful life events can cause sadness. Such as the death of a loved one, trauma, illness, divorce, isolation, lack of support, even the loss of a job or not being able to find a job. People can become sad when moving from a home into a new one. And the loss of a pet can create sadness. Sadness come when life changes. When you are sad, what do you do? Do you get angry or mad? Do you get frustrated? Do you over eat or not eat hardly at all. Do you become quiet and you want to be by yourself? We all get sad for one reason or another. Sadness is the feeling or showing sorrow; being unhappy. When sad, expressions of grief or unhappiness occur. The key is how we handle our sadness, for some of us want to bring others down when things don’t go our way, when we are sad and depressed. There are things you can do to help you overcome sadness, every morning get up, brush your teeth, shower, get dress, make your bed, exercise, get out of the house, talk to others, clean your house. Stay busy. The other thing you need to do to handle life’s difficulties is to go to God. God is our sustainer and redeemer. He is our all in all. Ways to turn to God are to start playing Christian music, pray, say the Lord’s Prayer over and over and while you are doing this you start focusing on God and not yourself and the sadness becomes less and less. 1 Chronicles 16:11 says, “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.” 1 Chronicles 22:19 reads, “Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God.” James 4:8a tells us, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” It is something to think about, try it—it just might change how you are feeling. God Bless. Amen.
