The other day my husband asked me if

The other day my husband asked me if I heard him laughing in his sleep.

December 17, 2024

The other day my husband asked me if I heard him laughing in his sleep. I said, “Yes, I did. What were you laughing about?” He told me and we laughed together. I thought, “I wish I laughed in my sleep too. For he does this periodically.” They say laughter is good for the soul. When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried? Do you know that a good laugh will create joy, vitality, and resilience. It helps heal resentment and decreases tension. Laughter replenishes our soul. Laughter expresses the inner joy of knowing God is with us on this journey called life. They also say a cheerful heart is good for you, it acts as a natural shield against stress and boosts emotional and physical health. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Job 8:21 tells us, “He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouting.” Laughter is a powerful medicine. God knew what He was doing when He designed us with the ability to laugh. For if we only feel just pain, just grief, our life would be out of balance, joy and laughter must be a part of our everyday life. So, if you haven’t laughed in a while your mission is to learn to laugh again. Watch funny movies, learn to laugh at yourself, laugh with your family and friends and soon things will fall into place and your life will have a new direction. Remember “They learned to laugh, and as they did so their whole appearance changed, its darkness was dispelled.” (Victor Hugo) So, laugh, enjoy, smile, give thanks, and laugh some more. For if you really think about it, your life isn’t that bad, there are good times as well! God Bless. Amen.
