They say to forgive is divine and if you are in conflict with someone forgive that person and you are on the road to internal peace. However, forgiveness can be very hard to do, especially because of the injustices that have been done to you. To forgive means to cease holding resentment or anger towards someone who has wronged you, and to release yourself from the burden of those negative emotions. Forgiveness involves making a conscious choice to release feeling of anger, bitterness, and the desire for revenge. Forgiveness does not mean condoning or excusing the actions that caused harm, but rather choosing to move on without being controlled by those feelings. Scripture even tells us, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew6:14-15) So here is the question if we know this is true why don’t we forgive others the wrongs they have inflicted upon us? It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
