To have good communication skills you have to

To have good communication skills you have to be a good listener.

May 29, 2024

To have good communication skills you have to be a good listener. To be a good listener you have to keep quiet, be attentive. You need to be able to listen to the other person, not be planning on what you want to say. When you are thinking about what you want to say, you are not listening to what the other person is saying. Do not be afraid to be quiet, for a good listener “listens” and does not speak until the other person is done talking. Then you will have time to talk too. This is what we are supposed to do with God. We are to go to God in prayer, but part of prayer is listening. Proverbs 36:16 reads, “Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track.” Today, practice listening with those around you. But also practice listening when you go to God in prayer. Proverbs 18:13 reminds us, “If one gives an answer before one hears, it is one’s folly and shame.” Be still. Listen. And you will find wisdom and understanding. God Bless. Amen.
