We all make choices; these choices affect those around us.

We all make choices; these choices affect those around us. Sometimes the choice we have made is good and positive. Other times, the choice we have made not only hurts us but others as well. In Matthew 1:19-21, 24 it says, “Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her (referring to Mary) to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the LORD appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,” because he will save his people from their sins…When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the LORD commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.” Joseph had a choice—he chose to marry “Mary” and not disgrace her. This story would have ended very differently if Joseph would have divorced Mary. Our lives would be different, our understanding of the birth story and our relationship with God would be different. Joseph’s choice made a profound impact on this world. We all have made choices in life—good ones, bad ones, and even downright horrible choices. We have all hurt people because of our choices in life and have blessed others from our choices. Here is something to think about, the choices you have made, have made you into the person you are today and that is good. Don’t you think! God Bless. Amen.
