We all succumb to temptation, which can seem like a cynical or despairing viewpoint. But think about it, no one can consistently resist their desires or impulses. We all face and experiences temptation, and some of us give into our desires and our willpower fails us, causing us to sin. Temptation means the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise, thus sin occurs. This does not mean we are bad people. It means we are human. James 1:13 reads, “Let not one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.” We are tempted by things, people, and our desires. What God wants us to do is pray, so that we can overcome our temptation. Jesus said to his disciples, “Pray that you do not come into temptation.” (Luke 22:40) Life is full of temptation. What God want us to do is follow His example. Pray, focus on God not yourself. And if you succumb to temptation, ask for forgiveness and try not to do it again. For God is merciful and forgiving, so to anger. God wants us to represent Him in all things and that sometimes is hard for us to do. But if we can keep our eyes fucus upon our Lord temptation is not so prevalent in our lives—God is. It is something to remember. God Bless. Amen.
