We are God's People.

We are to follow God's ways in all that we do.

July 3, 2026

“That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.” (Ezekiel 11:20 KJV)

This verse is about inward transformation leading to outward obedience. It is a powerful verse.  Something to read over and over again.

“Walk in my statutes” refers to our daily dealings in life.  What we do, how we act, and what we think.  It is an outward expression of our inward faith.

“Keep mine ordinance” means to carefully guard, remember, and practice God’s specific guidelines, rules, and practices.  Such as following the 10 Commandment (Exodus 20:1-17), the 2 Great Commandments (Matthew 22:36-40), the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12), and to forgive one another as He has forgiven us. (Matthew 6:12)

Then the verse tells us to do this and live by it.  To follow God’s statutes and keep them in all that we do.  By doing this we shall become God’s people. See God can’t be a part of our life nor can we be God’s people if we do not believe in Him or follow His ways.

“They shall be my people, and I will be their God” means that we are God’s people.  The key is in the believing and the following of God and what God has called us to do and to be. For how can God, have a relationship with us, if we turn our backs upon Him.  If we do not follow His ways.  If we pick and choose what we want to do.

This scripture calls us to live out an authentic, heart-driven desire and want to have God be a part of our daily life.  Where we want to serve Him and be receptive to His guidelines, daily--moment by moment.  And if this transpires they shall be my people, and I will be their God.  God Bless.  Amen.
