We function from our reality—our reality is a by-product of our past experiences, the way we were raised and our interpretation of life. You can have siblings growing up in the same household and each will have a different perspective. When my sister and I talk about our childhood we often laugh that we were raised by different parents, even though we were raised by the same parents. My brother too has a different perspective because he is much younger than us, but the same parents. We, as individuals, see life differently. Take for example the New Testament—the 4 Gospels. The story of Jesus is basically the same, yet each Gospel is written from the perspective of the individual who wrote that Gospel, thus each Gospel is different. One isn’t to say that one story is more accurate than the other—they just are written by different authors and different perspectives. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 reads, “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit; there are different kinds of service, but the same Lord; there are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God who works all things.” Today, try being more tolerant to those around you, for we all believe in the one true God. And remember, you never know what another person has gone through nor what he or she is going through now. Remember God came into this world to offer grace, forgiveness, and hope. Shouldn’t we extend that to those around us—to those we love. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
