What are some of the things you ask God for: to win the million-dollar lottery, a new job, a new house, clothes, how about a new car or truck, or do you ask for good health, to heal a loved one, a miracle? Maybe you ask God for wisdom, knowledge or clarity of mind? To ask means to say something, to obtain an answer to something. John 16:24 reads, “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” Yes, scripture tells us to ask, but we like Jesus need to say at the end of each of our prayer requests the words that Jesus spoke while hanging on the cross. He said, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42) Thus, we leave all situations in God’s hands trusting Him to see us through. Trusting God to answer our prayer as He wills, not as we want. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
