What We Say, Does Matter!

Do everything without grumbling or arguing.

August 27, 2026

“Do everything without grumbling or arguing…” (Philippians 2:14 NIV)

“Without grumbling” means no complaining, no whining, no grumbling, no pouting, no murmuring, no feeling sorry for yourself, no showing hidden discontent.

“Without arguing” means no fighting, questioning God’s commands, or arguing with others.  We are to avoid foolish arguments, quit trying to prove you are right.

Statements like this: “This steak just wasn’t cooked right!” “You missed a spot.” “You look tired.” “What is wrong with you!” “Really!” “Can’t you drive?” “Why did you buy this, I didn’t tell you to buy this.” These statements tear a person down. These words do not add value to the other person.  In fact, when these statements are said, the person saying them, is trying to draw attention to themselves.

Grumbling, complaining, arguing does not nor will it ever be helpful.  This scripture is trying to help a person understand that we are to live and do things without anger and complaining.  We are to stand out, like a like a bright star, in a dark and at times frustrating world. For our actions always reveal our faith. What we say, what we do, does have an impact on others.  What will your actions reveal about you today?  God Bless. Amen.
