When my children were growing up, I would

When my children were growing up, I would tell them that when a person heard their name, that person would view them by what he or she thought of them. Then I would say your name is very important. People view you by what they think of you. Thus, your name is associated with who you are and your actions. Our words and actions reveal what type of person we are. It is how people see us. If we complain a lot—people see us as complainers. If we gossip about others—people know that we will gossip about them as well. If we are dishonest—people know not to trust us. If we are not responsible—people know that they cannot rely upon us. And that holds true if you are honest, kind, responsible, trustworthy, compassionate, hardworking, caring and person of God. So how do you think others see you? As a kind, caring trustworthy person? Let that sink in. How do others see you? How does God see you, for your actions and your words reveal to God the same as it does to other people the type of person you are! Matthew 5:16 reads, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
