When things do not go as you like,

When things do not go as you like, what do you do?

June 18, 2023

When things do not go as you like, what do you do? Do you feel sorry for yourself? Or do you cry out at the injustice of the situation? Do you get quiet and go inward? Or are you the type of person who stomps around like a two-year-old out of control? Do you get mad and throw things? Do you yell and scream at those you love and take your frustrations out on them? What do you do when things do not go your way? As we live out our lives, things sometimes go our way and other times they do not. It is part of life. Life was never promised, to be easy. What we have to learn to do is to accept the situation, turn to God and trust God to see us through. Acting out never improves the situation. In fact, it can cause the situation to get worse. We have to learn, not to let the situation we are in, control us. We need to learn to let God be our refuge and strength. For the challenge is to keep our eyes on God, no matter what is going on around us. When God is our focal point, we are able to view our circumstance from God’s perspective. Thus, we are able to get through the situation, because God is there. By trusting God you are relying on God. 1 Peter 5:7 reads, “Cast all your anxieties on him (referring to Jesus), for he cares about you.” Isaiah 26:4 says, “Trust in the Lord forever, for the lord God is an everlasting rock.” As you learn to rely upon God, He will give you the peace that passes all understanding. So trust Him, go to Him, He is there. He is bigger than the situation you are in. God Bless. Amen.
