When you are sick, really sick whether it is a cold, flu, earache, or whatever, do you ever start pumping medicine into you, trying to make you feel better? Finaly, you break down and go to the doctor. The doctor gives you medicine. All the while you are praying the medicine works quickly, and soon you start feeling better. Praise be to God you do! How many of us do this with God? We go about life; life is good and wonderful then all of a sudden something happens, and we are call upon God to fix it ASAP. Why is it that we wait for something to happen before we spend time alone with God? Maybe we just need to spend time with God daily and get our spiritual life in order so that when something happens, we are grounded and centered in God. Revelations 3:20 reads, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” James 4:8a tells us, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” If you haven’t spent time with God lately—now is the time. If you do spend time with God daily, you can always spend more time with God. For God is our rock, a very present in times of trouble. He is the one sure thing in life. God Bless. Amen.
