When you are stressed, frustrated or angry what is your go to thing to do? Do you over eat, go on a spending spree, go to bed and feel sorry for yourself, go for a drive, read a book and close off the world, cry out your frustrations to a loved one, drink, gamble, or do you yell and scream at others? What do you do? In life, stress, frustration, and anger occur. It is part of life. How you handle these emotions is key to not hurting others and not being self-destructive. These behaviors are unhealthy. Learning better ways to cope is instrumental in getting through this life of ours. When you feel stress, or are frustrated and angry, stop, take a breath, be still, pray, go somewhere quiet, journey, listen to Christian music, exercise, talk to a loved one or a friend, center yourself. Pray and focus on other things beside yourself. Learning how to retrain yourself, and how you deal with your emotions that send you down a path of pain and hurt, not only to yourself, but to others is key. When we focus on God, He encircles us with His strength. (Psalm 18:32) He helps us deal with life and life’s frustrations. Psalms 16:8 reads, “I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I will keep my eyes always on the LORD.” When this happens, we learn to deal with life in a healthier manner, for God encircles us with His strength. So turn to God. Ask God to help you change your unhealthy behavior. You got this, for God is with you. God Bless. Amen.
