While growing up we always had to say

While growing up we always had to say “please” and “thank you”.

March 30, 2025

While growing up we always had to say “please” and “thank you”. We had to open doors for those in need. I was told to smile and if I didn’t, I was told an elephant would come and sit on my lip and break the frown right off my face. We were taught to respect our elders—always—saying “yes sir” “no sir” “yes ma’am” “no ma’am”. We were taught to be polite, kind, and nice. I think times have changed. But what hasn’t’ changed is that we all want to be liked and accepted. We even like to hear, on a regular basis, that we are doing a great job and that we are appreciated. The other thing we want to hear daily is that we are loved. Today, may you know that you are loved, you are accepted, and that God believes in you and wants what is best for you! He is proud of you. He supports you. For you are a beloved child of God created in God’s imagine. Believe it, cherish it and remember it. Psalm 136:26 reads, “Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.” So, remember to tell those you love just how much you love them and appreciate them. That you are glad that they are a part of your life. Be polite, kind, nice, and have good manners. Be thankful and praise God. For this day will never happen again—there are no re-do’s. Therefore, make it the best day ever! God Bless. Have a great day! Amen.
