Why do you believe in God? For me

Why do you believe in God?

August 3, 2025

Why do you believe in God? For me God has always been there. I was raised in the Church. I learned about God through church, my father and mother, and felt His presence with me daily ever since I can remember. I even played nuns with my next-door neighbor when we were in grade school. We believe in God for various reasons. Some people find belief though religion—through Sunday school, the Bible, and community functions at church. While others say they found God through a personal experience like an answered prayer or a feeling of God’s presence. Still others find God through a philosophical or cosmological or even based on science. Believe in God often stems from a combination of faith, reason, and personal experience. So why do you believe in God? John 6:29 says, “This is the work of God, that you believe on him whom he has sent.” Hebrews 11:3 tells us, “By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” Psalm 9:1 tells us, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Whatever your reason, it is deeply personal and varied. The thing is, if you believe, do you share and act accordingly. Do your actions, your words, and your thoughts reveal your belief in God? It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
