Would you say you are an honest person?

Would you say you are an honest person?

June 2, 2024

Would you say you are an honest person? That you do not tell lies. I was reading an article that said we can lie up to as many as 200 times a day. Most of these untruths are white lies, the kind people tell to keep conversations going, but many are far more serious. The study said we detect lies with only 54% accuracy. With the lies we tell, 25% are for someone else’s sake. Now if this is true and we are taught not to lie how do we justify our telling of lies? One of the 10 commandments says, “Thou shalt not lie or bear false witness against our neighbor.” Proverbs 12:22 reads, “The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” Today, try not to lie in any of your conversations. As you are trying not to lie, speak only if you can tell the truth. See if you can do it. But maybe you do not think you have a problem! But if the statistics are true, then we all have a problem. God Bless. Amen.
