Have you ever been ashamed of something?
October 9, 2023

Have you ever been ashamed of something? You do not want to talk about it nor do you want anyone to know about it. What are you ashamed of—the way your body looks, something that was done to you, where you live, the car you drive, a child, a friend, a spouse, your job? The definition of being ashamed is a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. How about this, are you ashamed of God? When we are ashamed of God, when we do not want to let people know we believe in God, it could be because we want to belong to the crowd we are with. For when we do not want others to know our faith or beliefs, it is a form of being ashamed. In Romans 1:16 it reads, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” Sometimes, we forget how much God loves us and how special and precious we are in God’s eyes. Today, think about your relationship with God and how truly important it is. Don’t be ashamed of it, share it. Be proud you are a believer, be an example to those around you. It will have an impact on others. And it just might change someone’s life. God Bless. Amen.
