I am Wonderfully Made.

God created us and we have inherent worth and divine design.

February 23, 2026

I will give thanks to You, because ‘I am awesomely and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.’” (Psalm 139:14 NASB)

This verse highlights that every individual is intentionally, intricately, and purposefully created by God.  Showing us as a reminder of inherent worth and divine design.

The problem comes because it is hard for us to see this, because we see our flaws, our unworthiness, our lowself-esteem reminds us of this, and our mistakes show us this.  We say things like “I’m so dumb.” “I never can do anything right.” “I hate myself.” “I am so ugly.” “I’m so fat.” “I am wrong, I am always wrong.” “I wish I was smarter.” “I’m so stupid.” “I am such an idiot.” “I am so bad at everything.” “I am such a mess.” “I never say the right thing.”  These statements broadcast low self-worth and become unhealthy habits.

Learning to reprogram our minds, our thoughts, our words is hard to do. We must be intentional about it.  This scripture reminds us that we are wonderful, awesomely made and God loves us just as we are.  This scripture is used to counter feelings of inadequacy or negative self-image, reminding us that we have value, we have worth, and it comes from understanding we are created by God and not from external social standards.

So, every time a negative thought emerges counter it with a positive thought about yourself.  “I am wonderful.  I am created in God’s imagine.  I am smart. I can do this.  I love myself.  I am happy.  I am thankful for my life.  And soon the negative thoughts disappear and are replaced by positive ones.  And I will give thanks to God, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made.  It is something to try.  God Bless. Amen.
