I remember when raising my children I would say, “Are you listening to me.

I remember when raising my children I would say, “Are you listening to me. Repeat back what I just told you.” There were times, when they had no idea what I said. Hearing someone is not necessarily the same as listening. Listening mean to stop, pay attention to what the other person is saying, and do not think about what you want to say next. When we listen to someone, we take notice of and act on, what someone says. This holds true with all our relationships even our relationship with God. There are times to praise God, give thanks to our LORD, make a request unto Him, cry out our heartache and yes just listen to our LORD. 1 Kings 19:12 reads, “…and after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” Then Psalm 46:10a says, “Be still, and know that I am God…” Sometimes all we need to do is just listen to that still small voice. Sometimes we just need to be still before our LORD. It is something for us to remember in the business of our days. God Bless. Amen.
