There is a difference between want and need.

There is a difference between want and need.

October 19, 2024

There is a difference between want and need. I want many things I only need food, clothing and shelter to survive. Sometimes we get these two words confused in our daily lives. What we need to learn to do is appreciate what we have. Yes, strive for more but be content and feel blessed for the things you do have. 1 Timothy 6:7-8 says, “…for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.” The writer of this book, which is found in the New Testament, is trying to help those who are consumed by possessions to understand, how to appreciate life daily. That what you have is far greater than being consumed with the things you do not have. This can be done by counting one’s blessings. When you learn to appreciate what you have, it helps you look at life differently. If you are honest, you probably have everything you need, NOT everything you want. Today, let us give thanks. Tell those around you how much you appreciate them, learn to enjoy the moment you are in—give thanks and count your blessings! For life is too short, not to be thankful for what you have. God Bless. Amen.
