What does it mean to keep your eyes

What does it mean to keep your eyes upon the Lord?

June 24, 2023

What does it mean to keep your eyes upon the Lord? It means to turn away from a world that urges you to do outwardly things such as sin; stealing, murder, lust, laziness, anger, hate, excess drinking, gambling, gossip, drugs, spending money you do not have—anything that separates you from God. By keeping your eyes focused on God, you automatically take them off yourself and your problems. You look to God. Because by focusing on God, it allows you to stay grounded in truth and love no matter what comes your way and give you control over your reactions to life. Thus, when you keep your eyes upon the LORD, life goes so much smoother. When you focus upon what the LORD is asking of you, things just seem to fall into place. But sometimes in life when life is out of our control and it seems as if you cannot get a break—these are the times that it is so hard to keep our faith in our God and keep trusting in Him. Psalms 16:8-9 reads, “I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure.” Today, remember God is there. He will see you through any situation you are in. So keep your eyes focus upon God! God Bless. Amen.
