Hate is a very strong word.

Hate is a very strong word. It is filled with meanness, anger, and malice. When I was little the meanest, most horrible thing I could think of or say, was to say, “I hate you!” I said this once to my parents. They both responded, “Well I love you.” I couldn’t believe they said that. I huffed and walked away saying yet again, “I hate you!” And yet again they said, “Well I love you!” Who is one person you hate? Why do you hate this person? What is something you hate? Why do you hate this thing? To hate means a feeling of intense or passionate dislike for someone or something. It can also be described as an extreme dislike or disgust for that person or thing. They say that hate turns in on itself and hurts the person who is spewing out all this hatred, more than on the person or object they are thinking about or spewing the hateful words upon. Proverbs 10:12 says, “Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs.” Today, if there is someone in your life that you hate, or something you hate go to God in pray—turn the hate over to God—then let go and let God. Let it go, for life is too short to hate anything—forgive just as God has forgiven you. It is something to think about. God Bless. Amen.
