Do You Do Everything the Lord Commands?

Our lives would shift from self-direction to align with God's ways and understanding.

February 15, 2026

“Moses did everything just as the Lord commanded him.” (Exodus 40:16 NIV)

The Lord God commands us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.  The Lord commands us to worship only God (not money, power, prestige, or things) avoiding idolatry, respecting His name, observing the Sabbath, honoring our parents, not committing murder, avoiding adultery, stealing, lying, or coveting.  God also commands us to forgive one another as He has forgiven you.  These commands are designed for our good, directing us to live in a way that reflects God’s holiness and love.

Do we do everything the Lord has commanded us? “Yes” “No” “Sometimes”

Would our lives be different if we did everything the Lord has commanded us?  How would our lives be different?  First, in all things we would be obedient to the Lord and what the Lord commands.  When we follow God’s commands our life would shift from self-directed to align with God and God’s will.  Resulting in increased peace and calmness, understanding one’s purpose in life, and developing spiritual growth, even in the midst of trails and tribulations.

Our life would be characterized by faith-filled, consistent actions rather than just avoiding wrong doing.  Selfish gains, wants and attitudes would diminish being replaced by actions that are grounded in a profound, and lasting way. We would focus on God in all things, not ourselves.  Which will enable us to walk in God’s way day in and day out, moment by moment, breathe by breathe, step by step.  It is something to think about, to strive for!  God Bless. Amen.
