Judges 3:31 reads, “And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed 600 Philistines with an ox goad; and he also saved Israel.” Shamgar did not give up. He fought and fought until all 600 Philistines were slain. He was a farmer and only used an ox goad, to overcome the Philistines. He didn’t give up nor lose faith. And because of his determination he saved Israel from death. As he fought, he prayed. He prayed, because he was so weary and exhausted from fighting. As he prayed, he got stronger. He knew that God would help him. What in your life are you fighting for that seems too hard to achieve? What in your life do you feel like giving up on? What in your life are you ready to quit because it just seems so impossible to keep going? For Shamgar it was not an option to quit, give up, or to stop fighting, just because the task seemed too difficult or no longer desirable. He trusted God to see him through. He did not give up! As he fought, he prayed; as he prayed, he got stronger; as he got stronger, he did not quit; and because he did not quit, he prevailed. This too can happen in your life. The more you pray the stronger you get, and the stronger you get the more able you are to reach what you thought was impossible to reach. Today, go to God, He will give you the desire to keep going, to keep putting one foot in front of the other and soon you too will prevail. God Bless. Amen.
