Redemption means the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.

Redemption means the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil. Which means we are delivered from our sin and its consequences. Think about it through redemption, we are being atoned for a fault or mistake we have committed. So, I ask you is there anything you need to be redeemed from in your life. I do. The other morning, I was out walking my dog. As I was walking by a house there was an elderly man, in a wheelchair, waving at me, at the edge of the driveway. As I walked by him, he said, “Can I pet your dog.” I was busy talking on the phone so I said, “I can’t for I don’t know how my dog will act toward you.” Keep in mind that my dog is very nice to all people. I kept walking, picking up my pace to avoid him, for I was too busy to stop to talk. Sad but true. I went home with what I did, heavy on my heart and on my mind, why didn’t I stop and talk. I told my husband about it because it really bothered me that I did that. I could have told the person I would call them back. Good gravy, I had the time. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own lives that we forget about other people. A week later my husband goes to the Post Office, while I am out walking. He drives by the elderly man just as I am getting close to see that the man is out on his driveway. Gary calls to tell me that the man is out on the driveway and that I should stop and visit. I say, “I see him. I will.” End of conversation. As I approach the man he says, “May I pet your dog.” I say, “Of course.” We chitty chatted about this and that. We talked for about five minutes. As I left, I said to God, “Thank you for the redemption. Thank you for redeeming me.” Colossians 1:14 reads, “In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Psalm 111:9a says, “He sent redemption to his people…” Romans 3:23 tells us, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We are redeemed. Just remember we are a part of many members. Take time for others. It will make for a better day. Share God’s love wherever you can. You might just make another person’s life a little bit better. God Bless. Amen.
