When I was very little, it was before I was in second grade, I remember my father saying, “Why don’t you just go out and play in the street!” My mother said, “Joe, don’t say that, she can’t go into the street and play. She could get hurt.” He then said, “Denise, why shouldn’t you play in the street?” I said, “Because I could get hurt.” He then said, “Then why are you doing something that could hurt you now?” Another time my sister and I and some other kids were playing, having fun, doing what kids do and we got busted, can’t remember why but we were do something wrong. My father said to us, “What is wrong with you two? If all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you jump off a cliff too. You better start thinking for yourselves. Do you hear me!” There is a difference between right and wrong. Just because you see something, hear something, or do something, does not make it the right thing to do or believe. 2 Timothy 3 reads, “We live at a time when men call right, wrong and wrong, right. At a time when evil is called good and good is called evil.” Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Learning to think for yourself is the key to a healthy life. For when you do the research, study, learn, know the facts and really search for the truth you are no longer a victim to society, because you know right from wrong. It is something to consider in this day and age. God Bless. Amen.
