Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.
December 16, 2024

“Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.” (Luke 6:37) What do you think of this scripture? How does it make you feel? Does it make you take an inventory of yourself? So, “Do you judge others?” When we judge another person, we make a judgment call. We decide if that person is right or wrong. We form an opinion, often negative, about someone’s character, actions, or choices, usually based on limited information, and potentially implying a sense of superiority or criticism towards that person. We judge from someone driving in their car, someone at the grocery store, a friend, a loved one, a neighbor, or even a stranger. We make comments about the person. I guess we think it is right because we do it daily—all of us! What Luke 6:37 wants us to do is worry about ourselves and whether we are making a good or bad choice, right or wrong choice. We are to judge ourself and our behavior, not others. For the only person who judges our behavior is the Lord God Almighty. Today, if you are trashing someone, or gossiping, or judging another person, to make yourself feel good, think about this scripture. Think about what you are doing. Then ask yourself what would Jesus do this? Maybe if we all stop judging others, our days might be a little better. God Bless. Amen.
